You'll choose between two options before payment: (1) use your own auto-insurance policy that already covers rental vehicles — you'll upload proof of insurance from your trip page after booking; or (2) purchase our rental insurance product for $49.00, issued by Inuity Insurance Company. You can't proceed to payment without picking one.
Rental Insurance is an optional coverage product offered at checkout, issued by Inuity Insurance Company. It bundles collision damage and supplemental liability for the duration of your rental. The full coverage summary, deductibles, exclusions, and terms are shown in the "Read details" popup at checkout. If you choose this option, our team issues your policy through the provider's portal after payment and Inuity Insurance Company emails your certificate of coverage directly to you.
Not if you purchase our optional coverage. If you choose the "my own insurance" option, you'll need a valid personal auto-insurance policy that covers rental vehicles, and you'll upload proof from your trip page after booking. Our team reviews uploaded proof before pickup.
Yes — as long as your trip hasn't started, you can add rental insurance from your trip-management page. You'll see an "Add coverage" card with the same details and acknowledgment shown at checkout, and the additional charge is processed as a separate payment.
If you purchased our optional coverage, claims are handled directly by Inuity Insurance Company — you'll find their contact details on the certificate of coverage they email you, and we also show them on your trip page. If you're using your own auto-insurance policy, you file the claim with your own insurer. Either way, please also notify us as soon as possible so we can document the rental side.
Report any damage to us immediately so we can document it. You're responsible for damages as outlined in your rental agreement. If you purchased rental insurance, eligible damage is covered subject to the product's terms and deductibles (see the "Read details" popup at checkout for specifics). If you're using your own insurance, your personal policy is your primary coverage.
